Terra highlights the brilliant architecture created for the grounds in 1957 by architect Don Williamson in the new iteration of this restaurant. Architect Don Williamson designed and created the breathtaking futuristic hyperbolic paraboloid rooftop and many other buildings on the festival grounds, as well as more than 30 homes in the city of Laguna Beach. Williamson helped build the stature of Laguna Beach's annual mixture of theater and art, the POM, and was the Director from 1964 to 1978.
Although the exterior of the restaurant is updated to reflect a modern sensibility and aesthetic, Terra continues the longstanding legacy that Tivoli Terrace has built in the space. Naming the top tier of the restaurant after June Neptune — Neptune Terrace — is just one of the many ways Terra supports and highlights the local history of this amazing place.
